Extra Fanart/Thumbs

Okay I have a question. I only use 1 poster and same poster as folder.jpg, and 1 fanart. That's it.
I don't want any poster or fanart urls added to the nfo. Is that possible? Also MC has to have either extra fanart or extra thumb option enabled. May I ask why? I want both disabled with the last option of create folder.jpg enabled.. Just trying to figure out how it all works..

oh, but you missed this option

See third option down. If this is unselected then neither Extra Thumbs or ExtraFanart is downloaded.

By default Allow save ExtraFanart is selected as one option must be enabled if the user has Download extra Fanart/Thumbs selected.

That option is unselected at my end..

I've had the same problem with the latest version of MC. Got all the same options as akya and yet it still downloads extra fanart even though i have the "Download Extra Fanart/Thumbs" option not selected.

Tested here with my operational version (one I use for scraping my movies) and it created the extrafanart.

So checked with my development code, and it didn't create the extrafanart. (What the?)

Just tested with Fresh version of MC3.584b and it's not downloading the extrafanart.

Suggest you blitz your config.xml file and re-setup MC.

Let me know if still occuring for you, as it's not doing it here for me.

Okay, just tried 3.585. MC is not downloading extra fanart but still adding urls to the nfo. I dont want any urls to poster or fanart. Is that possible?

Maybe possible, but these are required for XBMC to be able to pick alternative posters. But there is a settings in Movie Preferences > Advanced tab, at the bottom, that may be able to be used.

I have to look at the code to see what that section of options are all about.

Let you know.

Oh okay.. That's what I wanted to know.... that why they were there... Thanks !

Yes, looking at the code, there are two different thumb urls, depending on Pre-Frodo or Frodo or both selected, and these are used by XBMC.

I am hesitant on disabling these due to XBMC using them.

Hi

I have given the test build a little spin, the removal of poster and fanart urls seem to be working great!
one thing i do notice is that it leaves a <fanart url="" /> line inside the nfo, i guess that whole line can be removed :)

The divx metadata seems also good now :)

The DTS-ES is still not working, looking at the nfo there seems to be a typo <codec>dts"</codec> seems some speech marks have crept in :)
i can add this as a new issue if you want but i imagine its a tiny fix ;)

Thanks!
