While AnotherPhil's been busy with filters section, tidying and improving, I've had the chance to get tag function working in MC. (find this with Movie sets)
Please have a go and give us feedback on the discussion tab of our site.

HueyHQ's added mediainfo icons to overlay on the fanart image for Movies.

It is also now possible to add specific folders for exclusion of scanning for media.

A new options been added to General Preferences to only display local actor images. It was found that if an actor's image was missing, MC would attempt to locate an image from the internet, which caused a mild pause of up to 15 seconds between switching movies. This option is enabled by default to ensure MC stays speedy for all.

With that in mind, a new General Filter option for Missing actor images is available.

Lastly, XBMC's TMDB scraper has been brought inline with saving of movie Posters and fanart. Now saves as per your selected preferences in Movie Preferences.

When i switch from any tab in movie back to Main browser it takes long time.. about 15 sec.
And it takes a while to save changes to movies to, not that long but long enough to get annoying.

this started a few releases ago, i don't remember when.

Comments: Right, finished up loading 1018 dummy movies into MC, all scraped with actors and artwork. Switching to different tab and back to browser is taking about 1 second. I know I only have a third of your collection, but I'm not seeing the same delay switching from any tab back to the browser tab. Could you upload your config.xml. Cheers Rob

And it takes a while to save changes to movies to, not that long but long enough to get annoying.

Comments: Still working on this. I've managed to make about a thousand dummy movie files, with about 800 ish in folders. That's when I discovered a issue with Google searches, so have fixed that for now, and 3/4 way scraping all these dummy files. (sure glad I have a xls file with all my movies.) Will let you know as I can.

Comments: Now i have moved my DVD folders... i think i got all of them. I even moved img movies to, to be on the safe side. And the behavior is th same.

Fixed issue where if google stopped returning results, MC wouldn't return IMDB Id from IMDB. Note, IMDB is extremely sensitive to spelling and punctuation.

Closed Feature: Tags in Frodo [692]

With the final release of Frodo I saw mention a new option for tags.

They appear to be in the early stages for it's use but was wondering if this should be incorporated in MC.

An early thought would be tags for different family members. Mom may not want to trudge through hundreds of movies but knows that she had some added to her tag set recently for her to look at. Or cartoons for the kids. Or with the home movies being in a set maybe tagging them to further define what they may be about. Weddings, Billy's baseball game, etc. Although I know nothing about the home movie section of MC and if it even uses sets or creates nfo files.

Any way just a thought for the discussion forum.

Comments: Yeah, just a bit changed between these two versions > MC 3.562b - 2013-05-01 New - TV - Saving of ExtraFanart. New - Movie - Allow turn off root folder check New - Movie - Genre filter changed for new Tri-state drop-down listbox. You can now include & exclude multiple genres. E.g. Include Action, exclude Animation, Horror. The intention is to change all the filters (where appropriate) to this new format New - Movie - option to save as fanart.jpg or poster.jpg instead of moviename-poster, etc, if movie is in own folder. Note: If Pre-Frodo or Both is selected, moviename.tbn and moviename-fanart.jpg will still be saved for backwards compatibility. New - Movie - Scraper tab options change around. Fixed - Don't overwrite artwork not sticking properly. Fixed - Movie - Moved options to correct tab's, better uniformity of options. Comments: I'm back... Here is what i found out. 3.5.6.6 = 16 sec 3.5.6.4 = error at start of mc 3.5.6.2 = 15 sec 3.5.6.1 = 1 sec 3.5.6.0 = 1 sec so it seams something happened between 3.5.6.1 and .2 Hope this will help you. Joakim

Thanks for the advice...
Yeah maybe some new update docs are in order.

I also just ran a file compare and realized that all of the paths in \settings\profile.xml are wrong. I have not been updating my \settings files when I update MC and these paths are pointing to an old copy of MC that is no longer in use. I'm going to update those paths and see if the tvcache and moviecache files are created. Maybe that will also help prevent issues like this in the future.
